Usage rights

Copying or modifying the app, any part of it, or its trademarks is not allowed. Neither is trying to extract its source code, translate it into other languages, or create versions derived from it. All trademarks, copyrights, database rights and other intellectual property in the app stay with the Service Provider.

Credits and PicText Pro

PicText comes with one credit, granted once. It is not refilled, it does not renew, and removing and installing the app again does not grant another. One credit pays for one result from any of the five tools: one picture read in Extract Text, one picture translated in Translate, one answer in AI Commands, one PDF read in PDF to Text, or one document created by the PDF Scanner. In PDF to Text, Enhance is a further charge of one credit for the page you use it on, and only when you ask for it; that page is never charged again. A result that fails, comes back empty, or that you cancel costs nothing.

PicText Pro is a subscription that unlocks every tool without limits. It is offered weekly or yearly, and the price is shown in your own currency inside the app before you buy. Pro starts the moment you subscribe; there is no trial period.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the renewal is charged within 24 hours of that moment.
• You can manage or cancel it at any time in your App Store account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal and keeps Pro until the end of the period you already paid for.
• Restore purchases brings a subscription back on a new phone or after a reinstall, using the same Apple ID.
• The Service Provider does not take payments and cannot issue refunds. Refunds are requested from Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
• Everything you do with a result you have already paid for costs nothing more.

Results made by automated systems

PicText produces its results with automated systems, so a result can be wrong, incomplete or misleading. Handwriting, small print, damaged pages, unusual layouts and rare languages are all harder to work with, and a translation can miss the sense of the original.

Check anything important against the original document, especially medical, legal, financial or safety information. The app is provided as it is, the Service Provider does not promise that a result will be correct or complete, and how you use a result is your responsibility.

Acceptable use

Use PicText only with content that is lawful and that you have the right to read, copy or translate. Do not use it to break the law, to invade someone's privacy, or to work with material you are not allowed to have. Do not try to overload, interrupt or misuse the services behind the app, work around its limits, or resell what it does as a service of your own.

What the app sends

Extract Text, Translate and AI Commands send the picture you are working on, over a secure connection, to Google Cloud to be read, and PicText keeps no copy of it. PDF to Text and the PDF Scanner work on your phone, apart from a single page you choose to Enhance in PDF to Text, which is sent the same way and only when you ask for it.

Service changes

The Service Provider works to keep the app useful and may change it, or charge for its services, at any time. Any charge will always be made clear to you before you pay it. Some features need a working internet connection, and the app cannot be held responsible for a result that does not arrive because the connection failed or a service it relies on was unavailable.

Your device

The app stores and works with data on your phone in order to do its job. Keeping your phone and your access to the app secure is your responsibility.

Other services used by the app

PicText relies on services with their own terms:

• Google Cloud Platform Terms, for the pictures the app sends to be read.
• Google Firebase Terms, for usage data and crash reports, and only when you have turned those switches on.
• RevenueCat Terms, for managing and restoring subscriptions.

Updates and changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The new version is posted on this page with a new effective date, so it is worth reviewing now and then. Continuing to use the app means you accept the change.
